Abstract: Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, biliopancreatic diversion (BPD; Scopinaro's technique), and BPD with distal gastric preservation (BPDGP) are different surgical procedures, currently performed with laparoscopic assistance, successfully used as a treatment for morbid obesity.
