Abstract:Electroporation refers to changes in permeabilization of lipid membranes induced by external pulsed electric fields. Diverse applications of electroporation in biotechnology include gene transfer, modulation of gene expression, cell proliferation, seed germination, sterilization in the food industry, and extraction of chemical compounds.
