Abstract:In this paper, we propose a large wavelength bandwidth Mach-Zehnder modulator based on light intensity equalization structure. The modulator is designed into a symmetric structure to increase the optical operating bandwidth. Besides, two auxiliary MZIs are connected to the respective phase shifters of the main modulator to balance the optical intensity in them. Compared with a conventional Mach-Zehnder modulator, this design has a larger optical operating bandwidth over 56.1 nm. Besides, the maximum extinction… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
