Abstract:Proximal humerus fractures raise difficulties and uncertainties in diagnostic definition, planning and surgical procedure, as well as in prognostic assessment. In consideration of the most recent acquisitions in diagnostic imaging, surgical techniques and locking plates, the Authors discuss the main pitfalls and indicate the most effective solutions. Two different fixation devices (Philos and S3 plate) are compared and technical differences are discussed.
