Le rôle des services et des investissements dans l’hypertrophie de la ville d’El Oued au bas Sahara algérien

Abstract

Depuis une quarantaine d’année, le Sahara Algérien change sous l’impulsion d’une politique volontariste, en créant des entités administratives, en investissant dans l’économie et les équipements qui se trouvent concentrés dans les chefs-lieux de wilaya. Ainsi, le système urbain saharien est déséquilibré à cause d’une forte concentration de la population dans les villes principales au détriment des petits et moyens centres. Conséquemment, la ville saharienne hypertrophiée n’arrive plus à répondre aux besoins de sa population et se trouve confrontée à des problèmes insolubles. C’est le cas de la ville d’El Oued.For more than forty years, an active, forward-looking policy has brought change to the Algerian Sahara by creating administrative bodies and investing in the economy and facilities located for the most part in the county seats of wilaya. As a result, the Sahara’s urban system is in a state of imbalance, due to high urban population densities, which benefit major cities at the expense of small and medium-sized towns. Subsequently, cities of the Sahara such as El Oued suffer from urban hypertrophy are unable to meet citizen needs and face intractable problems
