Lepton masses, mixings, and flavor-changing neutral currents in a minimalS3-invariant extension of the standard model

Abstract: The mass matrices of the charged leptons and neutrinos, previously derived in a minimal S3-invariant extension of the Standard Model, were reparametrized in terms of their eigenvalues. We obtained explicit, analytical expressions for all entries in the neutrino mixing matrix, VP M NS , the neutrino mixing angles and the Majorana phases as functions of the masses of charged leptons and neutrinos in excellent agreement with the latest experimental values. The resulting VP M NS matrix is very close to the tri-bim… Show more

“…If we take for δt 12 the experimental central value δt 12 ≈ −0.04, we obtain |m ν 2 | ≈ 0.056 eV, |m ν 1 | ≈ 0.055 eV, and |m ν 3 | ≈ 0.022 eV [40]. When we take for δt 12 the tri-bimaximal value δt 12 = 0, the neutrino masses are m ν 1 = 0.0521 eV, m ν 2 = 0.0528 eV, and m ν 3 = 0.0178 eV.…”

“…Note that the difference in the interpretations ofμ f 0 for the cases above, Eqs. (46,47) lies in the fact that for the case (i) there is no assumption on the value ofμ f 0 , but thenμ u 0 necessarily has to be less than 6σ mu , whileμ d 0 has necessarily to be less than 6σ …”
