Abstract:A study was made of the influence of surfactants in the treatment of contamined waters, both in the flocculation and in the ion flotation processes. Data are given on the effect ofvarying of the pH and theelectrostatic charge ofsuspended particles. Some flocculation value and volume reduction factors are given for various cationic and anionic detergents. A relationship was found between pH, intrinsic viscosity and efficiency of decontamination for 13'Cs in the ion flotation method.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
