Less Help-Seeking Behaviour in Female Patients Exhibiting Stroke or TIA - Related Symptoms

Abstract: Several studies have shown sex differences regarding help-seeking behaviour in stroke and transient ischemic attack [TIA] patients. Women are less likely to perceive their symptoms as requiring immediate hospital care. They are also more inclined to involve friends and family in decision-making and help-seeking.
