knew what was to come. It turns out that I had no idea just exactly what the process would be like. I would have been unable to complete the journey without the constant advice, reassurance, and affirmation from the following people. To my parents:You are the ones who originally sparked my love of science, and the ones who have continuously fostered it throughout the years. Growing up, I remember sitting down at the table each night and gazing across at the Periodic Table of the Vegetables affixed to the wall across from me, and then looking down at my Periodic Table of the Elements placemat. Perhaps it was a sign. Thank you for your continuous support and willingness to provide for me anything I would ever need. To my fellow members of the Westmoreland lab:The time has come for me to leave this lab behind, but I have you to thank for making it a memorable experience. Whether it was Andrea always answering my questions, Chien and Grace always inquiring about my experiments and treating me as if I knew anything, or Paul crashing the lab computer when I needed it most, there was never a dull moment.To the Wesleyan Chemistry Department: I truly believe that there is no better department on this campus than the Chemistry Department. Throughout my time, I have been thrilled not only by the quality of the teaching, but by the quality of the people this department houses. Every day I think to myself how lucky I am to have found this major, and to have interacted with all of you so closely over the last four years.
