Linear Friction Welding of a Commercial Aluminum Alloy

Abstract: The mechanical properties and microstructure of a solid-phase compound produced by linear friction welding (LFW) of commercial Al-4.4%Cu-0.5%Mg-0.4%Mn-0.5%Ag alloy have been studied. The samples of Al-Cu-Mg-Ag alloy were produced by ingot metallurgy and subjected to thermomechanical treatment to get different initial microstructures.
