“…The apparent upsurge and downsurge in vancomycin resistance seems to have occurred every 2 to 3 years during the last 15 years in Iran. During 2007, 8.5% vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE) was reported among clinical enterococci recovered from two hospitals in Tehran [44] .
