Abstract:Parallel channel models are common in wireless communication systems. In this paper, we propose an algorithm to maximize the throughput of two independent parallel channels over allowed encoder rate and modem rate constraints by adapting system parameters according to known channel state information. Theoretical results are presented and applied to a hybrid free space optical (FSO)/radio frequency (RF) communication system.
