LncRNA DQ786243 affects Treg related CREB and Foxp3 expression in Crohn’s disease

Abstract: BackgroundLong non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have different functions in cells. They work as signals, decoys, guides, and scaffolds. Altered lncRNA levels can affect the expression of gene products. There are seldom studies on the role of lncRNAs in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).ResultsQuantitative RT-PCR showed that DQ786243 was significantly overexpressed in clinical active CD patients compared with clinical inactive CD patients (P = 0.0118) or healthy controls (P = 0.002). CREB was also more highly expressed… Show more

“…LncRNAs, especially circulating ones, are stable and accessible and are considered potential diagnostic or prognostic markers in some types of cancer [24-26]. Clinically, overexpression of LncDQ has been observed in active CD and correlates with disease severity [15]. A recent study demonstrated that high LncDQ expression contributes to the proliferation and metastasis of colorectal cancer in vitro and in vivo [16].…”

“…Previous profile studies of lncRNA expression have documented the dysregulation of a series of lncRNAs in HCC including LncRNA DQ786243 (LncDQ) [14]. A recent study demonstrated that LncDQ is upregulated in active Crohn’s disease (CD) and correlates with disease severity [15]. Sun et al [16] found that LncDQ is increased in colorectal cancer, and LncDQ overexpression promotes the cell proliferation and metastasis of colorectal cancer cells both in vitro and in vivo .…”

“…Linc-POU3F3 was able to facilitate the distribution of Treg cells among peripheral T cells, which caused increased cell proliferation of gastric cancer cells through recruiting TGF-beta and activating TGF-beta pathway (85). The lncRNA DQ786243 affects the expression of cAMP response element binding protein and Foxp3 by Treg cells in Crohn’s disease (86). Further studies are needed to identify the mechanisms of lncRNAs in the regulation of Treg cells.…”

“…It has been found that DQ786243 lncRNA can be over expressed in these patients. It has been also suggested that this lncRNA might be responsible for the severity of Crohn's disease in patients [26]. Rheumatoid arthritis is a wellknown example of autoimmune disease.…”
