LncRNA HAND2‐AS1 represses cervical cancer progression by interaction with transcription factor E2F4 at the promoter of C16orf74

Abstract: Cervical cancer is one of the major malignancies, the pathophysiology and progression of which remain to be scarcely understood. Long non‐coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been previously implicated in the progression of cervical cancer. Here, the purpose of this study was to identify whether lncRNA heart‐ and neural crest derivative‐expressed 2‐antisense RNA 1 (HAND2‐AS1) affect the development of cervical cancer through regulation of chromosome 16 open reading frame 74 (C16orf74) by mediating a transcription factor… Show more

“…5,13,14 Interleukin 6 (IL-6) is a proin ammatory cytokine, which is upregulated frequently in OA patients and osteoarthritis animal models. 15,16,17,18 HAND2-AS1 is a newly de ned lncRNA and has been proved play an important role in different types of tumors, such as prostate cancer, 19 ovarian carcinoma, 20 cervical cancer, 21 intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm, 22 colorectal cancer, 23 liver cancer 24 and liver cancer stem cell. 25 However, the biological role and clinical function of HAND2-AS1 in OA are unclear.…”

“…Interleukin 6 (IL-6) is a proinflammatory cytokine, which is upregulated frequently in OA patients and osteoarthritis animal models [ 15 18 ]. HAND2-AS1 is a newly defined long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) and has been proved play an important role in different types of tumors, such as prostate cancer [ 19 ], ovarian carcinoma [ 20 ], cervical cancer [ 21 ], intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm [ 22 ], colorectal cancer [ 23 ], liver cancer [ 24 ], and liver cancer stem cell [ 25 ]. However, the biological role and clinical function of HAND2-AS1 in OA and the relationship between HAND2-AS1 and IL-6 are unclear.…”

“…The kelch-like family member 15 (KLHL15) can encode a member of the kelch-like family of proteins and is involved in protein ubiquitination and cytoskeletal organization (Ferretti et al, 2016;Zhou et al, 2019), but few studies focus on cancers. E2F transcription factor 4 (E2F4), a member of the E2F family of transcription factors, plays an important role in inhibiting proliferation-associated genes, and its gene mutation and increased expression are related to different cancers (Gong et al, 2020;Zhuang et al, 2020). In the future, these genes should be deeply investigated roles in SCC.…”
