Long term persistence and risk factors for anorectal symptoms following sphincter preserving surgery for rectal cancer

Abstract: Background Rectal cancer is commonly treated by chemo-radiation therapy, followed by anal sphincter-preserving surgery, with a temporary protecting ileostomy.
