Abstract:The paper aims at studying dispersion of elastic waves in a sandwich plate with the parameters, characteristic of aerogel core and hard skin layers, typical for aerospace applications including optimal design of fuselage structural components. The proposed approach relies on multiparametric analysis, taking into account the effect of strong transverse inhomogeneity. It is demonstrated that both an additional low-frequency propagating wave and a slowly decaying evanescent one appear due to a high contrast in ge… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
