In this paper, a duplexing antenna and two multi-band filtering antennas using resonator loaded slot are presented. The loaded slot can be flexibly designed as a dual-band or a tri-band antenna by changing the number of the loaded resonator. The operating frequencies of the slot antenna can be easily controlled through tuning the lengths and positions of the loaded elements. By integrating the multi-band antenna and the multi-mode resonator, duplexing and filtering antennas can be realized. The duplexing antenna consists of two single-mode resonators, a dual-mode stub-loaded resonator as the junction resonator and a dual-band slot antenna. The dual-band and tri-band filtering antennas each contains a dualmode resonator or a tri-mode resonator, radiating through resonator loaded slot antenna. Since the slot is the only radiation element, all the operating bands of the three antennas show good bi-directional radiation patterns. For validation, all of the antennas are designed, manufactured and measured. INDEX TERMS Duplexing antenna, filtering antenna, multi-band, slot antenna.

In this paper, a novel substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) filtenna with two controllable radiation nulls is proposed, which has the advantage of good radiation characteristics. Radiation nulls are generated by electric and magnetic mixed coupling structure and fundamental mode, respectively. And a quasi-elliptic characteristic can be obtained at the boresight gain direction. By changing the length of perturbation slot and the strength of electric coupling and magnetic coupling, the position of radiation nulls can be controlled independetly. Compared to conventional filtenna, the proposed SIW filtenna has no extra filtering circuit to increase the dimension and complexity. Two resonant modes in the passband can be excited through loading electric and magnetic mixed coupling structure in one SIW cavity. The measured results are in good agreement with simulated results. The good frequency selectivity and outof-band rejection are achieved. The proposed antenna exhibits a maximum realized gain of 5.8 dBi at the operating bandwidth. The measured impedance bandwidth is from 9.44 GHz to 9.68 GHz and the crosspolarization levels are lower than-20 dB in both planes. In this paper, a wideband filtering antenna is designed based on the dual-frequency matching condition. Instead of matching at only one radiating frequency in the conventional filtering antenna design, an antenna element with two radiating frequencies are considered and equivalently modeled as two series-connected parallel RLC resonators, a series inductor, as well as a shunt capacitance. To obtain a wideband impedance matching, last two stages of the parallel coupled-line sections in a filter are synthesized for matching the antenna at two frequencies. Finally, a prototype of a four-pole filtering antenna is designed and fabricated. The measured results achieve a wide bandwidth of 27.8% over 2.12-2.81 GHz with a flat antenna gain of 3.41 dBi over all the filtering band.
