Abstract: Background: Neonaticide is the leading cause of death for infants younger than 24 hours. Since Safe Haven laws have been in place, a large reduction in infant deaths has occurred. A literature review concluded that many healthcare staff members are unknowledgeable regarding Safe Haven infants, laws, and surrendering events.
