Abstract:This study demonstrates a low-pressure coating (LPC) technique for the deposition of titania films. In this process, compressed air is used to accelerate angular titania feedstock into a substrate such as stainless steel, producing a photoactive surface consisting of embedded titania particles. The method is relatively inexpensive, requiring only the basic materials and an air supply. A range of LPC titania coatings were produced, varying nozzle stand-off distance, air pressure, and substrate exposure time. Sa… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
