Abstract:In this paper we discuss diffraction effects on laser computed tomography (LCT) and timeresolved imaging (TRI) in a random medium. Our basic point is that light diffracted by an object embedded in a random medium contains useful and important information about its structure and therefore should be included in the imaging process. To support this point of view, we compute diffracted fields from opaque and semi-transparent cylindrical objects of various sizes. Based on these results we conclude that to improve i… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
