Abstract:Time dependent propagation code simulations are described for phase compensation of atmospheric turbulence and thermal blooming. Test results, using convected phase screens to represent the optical turbulence, are compared with steady-state simulation results and, also, for fixed and variable direction wind conditions. Realistic wind effects on propagation are investigated by performing 4D code simulations to compare the effects of actual wind observations with monthly mean wind profile models for the White Sa… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
