Abstract:In a previous paper1 one described a sensor that worked by replacing a small region of the clad by a material possessing an index of refraction highly sensitive to temperature. The variation of the index of refraction of this material leads to tosses that modulate the transmitted optical power bringing information about the temperature. In this paper one presents a theory for the explanation of the behaviour of the above mentioned sensor.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
