Abstract:Target detection in water (or another liquid medium) is achieved by optical registration and measurement of the shape of the surface disturbance (hump") of liquid caused by radiation pressure of ultrasound waves passing by or reflected from the object. Two methods have been developed. In the first case, the effects of refraction and diffraction of a laser beam by the "hump" are used. This method is very sensitive for detection and observation of dynamic underwater objects. In the second case the Talbot effect … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
