Abstract:Several highly pathogenic mammarenaviruses cause severe hemorrhagic and neurologic disease in humans, for which vaccines and antivirals are limited or unavailable. New World (NW) mammarenavirus Machupo virus (MACV) infection causes Bolivian hemorrhagic fever in humans.
