Macrobenthos community structure in coral reef ecosystem around Pramuka Island, Jakarta

Abstract: Macrobenthos are organisms that live crawling, sessile, and digging holes in substrates such as sand, silt, rock, coral fragments, or dead coral. Benthos have low mobility, easy to catch, have a long life, and sensitive to some pollutants so that it can mean that benthic community structure can be used as a parameter of condition the current ecosystem of a particular area and also as information about wealth contained in the aquatic area. The study was conducted on 6-14 September 2018 in the Pramuka Island are… Show more

“…In the western coast of Java (R1), a baseline coral reef ecosystem study was conducted off Sangiang Island (Yusri et al, 2017). Other works describe further explorations of macrozoobenthic diversity and community structure (Ali et al, 2017;Mustagfirin and Hartati, 2017;Panggarbesi et al, 2017;Siddiqi et al, 2017;Amfa et al, 2020;Sasongko et al, 2020;Hartati et al, 2021;Alamsyah et al, 2022), its potential utilization (Sulardiono, 2016;Ernawati et al, 2019), and responses to environmental conditions (Setyowati et al, 2017;Suryanti et al, 2018bSuryanti et al, , 2018aPratiwi, 2019;Fitriyah et al, 2020). Additionally, nudibranch species sampled from Karimunjawa and Bali were listed in bioactive compound research (Kristiana et al, 2020).…”

“…Qinghe River, known as Shaobei River in ancient times, was named Qinghe River in the early Qing Dynasty due to its clear water quality [4]. The Qinghe River Basin is the main stream on the east bank of the Liaohe River system, most of which belong to the low mountain and hilly areas of the Changbai Mountains; it flows through the Qinghe District and Kaiyuan City under the jurisdiction of Tieling.…”

“…According to [7], coral reef health can be seen benthic component and reef fish component. In addition, other coral association biota such as benthos have an important role to be a parameter to determine coral reef health [8] because these organism are sensitive to pollutants and can be a water indicator [9]. The condition of coral reef currently being threatened not only influence by nature, but also from human activities through pollution and habitat change.…”
