“…Adsorption experiments showed that the maximum adsorption capacity of the ion-imprinted polymers (IIPs) reached 155.20 mg g −1 in just 45 minutes, and the limit of detection (LOD) of the proposed procedure for Cd( ii ) ions was found to be 0.40 ng mL −1 with a linear range of 1 to 100 ng mL −1 . Azam Aliakbari et al 26 synthesized an ion-imprinted polymer (IIP) coated onto magnetite (Fe 3 O 4 ) nanoparticles via radical copolymerization as a magnetic sorbent for the fairly selective preconcentration of vanadium( iv ) ions. The evaluated results demonstrated that under the optimum conditions, the IIP had a high adsorption capacity of 24 mg g −1 toward vanadium( iv ) ions, and the analytical efficiency and the limit of detection reached 99.40% and 20 ng mL −1 , respectively.…”

“…However, the MIPs generally interact with template molecules by classical functional monomers through hydrogen bonds or Van der Waals interactions, but in IIP, a slight variation is the coordination chemistry. The preparation of IIPs generally requires a ligand to form a complex with the metal ion to produce selective binding sites after metal leaching . Although various IIP have been synthesized for different metal ions extraction, but, to the best of our knowledge, there is very limited ion imprinted synthesized for separation and preconcentration of vanadium ions from real samples.…”
