Abstract:We investigate the magnetic ground state of rhombohedral chromium sulphide Cr2S3 by density functional theory. We identify the muon implantation sites, their hyperfine couplings and the role of charge states in this compound. Our calculations show that we can obtain a compensated ferrimagnetic ground state. We find that strong electronic correlations are required to correctly obtain the semiconducting band behaviour of Cr2S3 in agreement with experiment. Relying on earlier µSR measurements, our calculations su… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
