Abstract: Most plant pathogenic microorganisms have evolved to infect distinct host tissues. The maize anthracnose fungus, Colletotrichum graminicola, is known for its ability to invade above-ground tissues with asexual falcate conidia. Besides, C. graminicola generates a second asexual spore type, oval conidia.
