In this study, the latest research articles which are involved in the Internet of Things (IoT) based healthcare system are analyzed as the IoT is growing enormously in the healthcare systems such as health monitoring, fitness programs, etc. Numerous research has been carried out in the IoT based healthcare system to improve monitoring efficiency. The architecture used in the IoT especially the cloud integrated systems are investigated in this work. The factors such as accuracy and power consumption are the important concern in the IoT, hence the research works which are involved in improving the performance of the IoT based healthcare systems are discussed. Data management methods in the IoT based healthcare system with cloud facilities are also systematically analyzed in this study. The performance of the IoT based healthcare system along with its advantages and limitations are reviewed. Most research works are efficient in detecting several symptoms and can accurately predict the diseases. The IoT based healthcare system designed especially for elders is an efficient solution in monitoring their healthcare issues. Major limitations in the existing systems are high power consumption, availability of fewer resources and security issues due to the utilization of many devices.

By virtue of the rapid development of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT), people have owned various devices connected to the Internet to enjoy various emerging application services, such as multimedia related services. IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is the integration platform for multimedia application services and provides a rich feature set of converged services in the Next Generation Network (NGN). IMS services are accessed by a user anytime and anywhere through his/her personal self IMS device, e.g., mobile device, equipped with a Universal Subscriber Identity Module (USIM) card. People have owned various devices connected to the Internet at homes or offices. However, some devices can not access IMS services without USIM cards embedded, which is called non-IMS devices. People wish that more devices without USIM cards embedded should be connected to the Internet on which IMS services are accessed in addition to the mobile devices equipped with USIM cards. Accordingly, we propose an Open Service Gateway Initiative (OSGi)-based IMS service gateway, in which OSGi technology is the dynamic module system for JAVA. The proposed gateway is authorized by a personal self IMS device such that IMS services are accessed by non-IMS devices, in this paper. Moreover, these non-IMS devices rely on different networks to access technologies and network protocols and the IMS service gateway proposed here adopts the OSGi framework for no problem of integration.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of physical devices, software, and hardware that communicate with one another. As the population ages, healthcare resources become scarce, and medical expenses rise, IoT-based solutions must be adapted to meet these issues in healthcare. To enhance the monitoring efficiency of the IoT-based healthcare system, several studies have been conducted. In this paper, the architecture utilized in the IoT, particularly cloud-integrated systems and security in IoT devices is explored. Factors like accuracy and power consumption are major concerns in the Internet of Things, therefore research projects aimed at enhancing the performance of IoT-based healthcare systems are highlighted. In this work, data management strategies in an IoT-based healthcare system with cloud capabilities are thoroughly examined. The performance of the IoT-based healthcare system is examined, as well as its benefits and drawbacks. Moreover, a comparative analysis is also done on some existing technologies that are utilized in healthcare. It has been observed from past studies that IoT protocol such as 6LoWPAN is mostly utilized in the domain of health care. The majority of research studies are effective in detecting many symptoms and accurately predicting illnesses. The IoT-based healthcare system built specifically for the elderly is an effective way to keep track of their medical concerns. High power consumption, a scarcity of resources, and security concerns major drawbacks of current systems are included in the proposed study.
