Incorporating the conservation of resources theory as a comprehensive framework, this study investigates a cohesive conceptual model analyzing the impact of workplace ostracism on employees’ innovative work behavior (IWB). The investigation further delves into the mediating influence of perceived control and the moderating roles of paradox mindset and support for innovation. Data collection employed a survey approach involving three-time lags through questionnaires administered to 513 employees within Pakistan’s public sector organizations. The hypothesized relationships were evaluated using conditional process modeling. Our research sheds light on how perceived control mitigates the negative impact of ostracism. The paradox mindset is identified as a key moderator influencing cognitive resources and navigating ostracism. Support for innovation enhances the link between perceived control and innovative work behavior. In addition, limitations, future research directions, and implications of our findings for fostering creative workplaces are also discussed.

As global economic recession and deterioration of the ecological environment become increasingly prominent, every responsible enterprise, especially the energy enterprises with more environmental controversies, will be faced with the most difficult choice regarding sustainable operation in history: market power expansion strategy, or technological innovation strategy? Most of the literature supports the finding that the former can occupy the market advantage and obtain the current market survival, but the future potential is low, while the latter reduces the firm’s negative externality and gains future competitiveness, but current profits are reduced. This paper proposes a new perspective to evaluate the “sustainable development of enterprises” and then constructs a new measurement model, using a linear regression model for empirical analysis, which provides technical support and guidance for energy enterprises facing this decision-making dilemma. For further research, we have proposed more practical business management strategies for the sustainable development of petrochemical companies in developing countries.

The present study investigates the effect of supervisor support and co-worker support on employees' organizational commitment by incorporating the role of work-family conflict as a mediator. Primary data were collected from 353 employees working in the service sector of India. Partial least square structural equational modelling in Smart PLS software was used for analysis. Results confirm that supervisor support significantly influences the organizational commitment of the employees. Work-family conflict act as a mediator between the relationship of supervisor support and organizational commitment. There is no significant effect of co-worker support on organizational commitment. Work-family conflict does not mediate between the relationship of co-worker support and organizational commitment. This study explains the importance of supportiveness from the supervisor in an industrializing country like India. It also provides an insight to the management in realizing the need to provide sensitivity training to the supervisors and the fact that special attention should be given while hiring the supervisors. This research will be useful to the management, researchers, policymakers, and society at large.
