Manganese-Based Catalysts for Indoor Volatile Organic Compounds Degradation with Low Energy Consumption and High Efficiency

Abstract: With the development of industrialization, the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to atmosphere causes serious environmental problems and the treatment of VOCs needs to consume a lot of energy. Moreover, indoor VOCs are seriously harmful to human health. Thus, there is an urgent requirement for the development of indoor VOCs treatment technologies. Catalytic degradation of VOCs, as a low energy consumption, high efficiency, and easy to achieve manner, has been widely studied in related fields. As a … Show more

“…Based on the literature review, it has been shown that manganese oxides with mixed valence and the presence of active oxygen promote the photodegradation of organic molecules. 67 In particular, it has been reported that the oxidation activity of mixed-valence Mn 3 O 4 is based on a thermo-assisted photocatalytic process. 11 In this process, during solar irradiation, the d–d orbital electrons of the Mn atom within the [MnO 6 ] octahedron absorb photon energy, leading to a transition from the ground state to an excited state, generating electron–hole pairs.…”

“…In previous studies on how to improve students' mathematics learning strategies, most researchers focus on how to improve teachers' teaching strategies [39], while few researchers focus on how to help students use mathematics learning strategies independently. This study uses an intelligent evaluation system to conduct batch evaluations for the tested classes, and automatically and efficiently output one-to-one diagnostic reports.…”

“…In addition to Mo-V-O, chemical looping also boosted ethylene production with over 90% of ethylene selectivity, employing alkali metal-promoted Mn-based 15 , perovskite 13 , and NiO-based redox catalysts 16 . The activity of different oxygen species has a major influence on oxidation reactions 17 , 18 . Nonetheless, the volatilization and toxicity of vanadium oxide and the limited oxygen capacity of perovskite are still holdbacks.…”
