Manipulating catalytic activity and durability of Pt-modified Cu–Fe–La/γ-Al2O3 ternary catalyst for catalytic wet air oxidation: effect of calcination temperature

Abstract: A series of novel Pt-modified Cu-Fe-La/g-Al 2 O 3 catalysts were prepared by an incipient-wetness impregnation method, and their performances were evaluated in catalytic wet air oxidation (CWAO) of printing and dyeing wastewater (PDW). The as-prepared catalysts were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), nitrogen adsorption-desorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Raman spectroscopy, and temperature progr… Show more

“…In addition, it is noteworthy to highlight that some of the samples corresponding to 110, 120, and 130 °C tests stayed below the detection limit of the equipment (0.2 mg·L –1 ). The found values of leached metal are similar to those reported in the literature. …”

“…The phase purity and crystallinity of all of the reduced and calcined Ni/Al 2 O 3 , Pt/Al 2 O 3 , Ni 1 Pt 0.004 /Al 2 O 3 , Ni 1 Pt 0.007 /Al 2 O 3 , and Ni 1 Pt 0.015 /Al 2 O 3 were analyzed via XRD (Figure ). The XRD patterns of the catalysts show the characteristic 2θ peaks at 19, 32, 38, 39, 45, and 67° corresponding to (101), (112), (103), (202), (220), and (224) planes, respectively, which are attributed to the Al 2 O 3 phase (PDF 01-074-4629). , Figure a indicates the NiO phase (PDF 01-080-5508) of calcined Ni/Al 2 O 3 and Ni–Pt/Al 2 O 3 with the diffraction peaks at 37, 44, and 63°, indicating the (111), (200), and (220) planes, respectively . The peaks of calcined Pt/Al 2 O 3 and Ni–Pt/Al 2 O 3 at 32, 37, and 63° correspond to the (111), (222), and (311) planes, respectively, ascribed to the PtO 2 phase (PDF 01-089-3603).…”

“…In the Fe 2p spectral scope, the major signal of Fe 2p 1/2 and Fe 2p 3/2 exists at 724.1 and 711.3 eV with the shoulder at 717.4 eV, indicating the appearance of Fe 3+ . Moreover, a little signal at 709.9 eV is observed, demonstrating that a large proportion of Fe owns the valence of +3 and a fraction of Fe 2+ coexists in La 0.8 Ce 0.2 Fe 0.25 Co 0.75 O 3 …”
