Abstract:Nutrient cycling in crop–animal production is impacted by changes in both systems, with imbalance hotspots in concentrated animal production regions severely impacting water quality. This study assesses manure–crop nutrient balances in five river basins in North Carolina and demonstrates a new approach for partial nutrient balances along hydrological boundaries.
