Abstract: Protein phosphorylation is a crucial regulatory mechanism in cellular homeostasis. The human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) incorporates protein phosphatase 1 (PP1) into its tegument, yet the biological relevance and mechanisms of this incorporation remain unclear.
