Abstract: Long terminal repeat (LTR)-retrotransposons are significant contributors to the evolution and diversity of eukaryotic genomes. Their RNA genomes (gRNA) serve as a template for protein synthesis and reverse transcription to a DNA copy, which can integrate into the host genome.
