Abstract:Introduction: The incidence of acute respiratory infections (ARI) tends to be higher in urban areas, especially in Jakarta, the centre of activity in Indonesia. However, the COVID-19 pandemic forced people to wear masks in both urban and rural areas to prevent the virus from entering the respiratory tract. The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between mask-wearing behaviour and outbreaks of acute respiratory infections during the COVID-19 pandemic among students in Jakarta.
