Mass-improvement of the vector current in three-flavor QCD

Abstract: We determine two improvement coefficients which are relevant to cancel massdependent cutoff effects in correlation functions with operator insertions of the non-singlet local QCD vector current. This determination is based on degenerate three-flavor QCD simulations of non-perturbatively O(a) improved Wilson fermions with tree-level improved gauge action. Employing a very robust strategy that has been pioneered in the quenched approximation leads to an accurate estimate of a counterterm cancelling dynamical qua… Show more

“…[11,19]. As a byproduct, we also obtain the coefficient of the (valence) quark mass dependent piece of the renormalisation factor away from the chiral limit, b V , for one value of the lattice spacing to demonstrate consistency with the results of [19,30]. The Ward identity determination of the improvement coefficients for both, the local as well as the conserved (i.e., point-split) lattice discretisation of the continuum vector current is discussed in Sect.…”

“…Both coefficients are already non-perturbatively known for our choice of action from Refs. [19,30]. Moreover, as the mass range width of our gauge ensembles is not ideal for a detailed study of these mass dependent effects for all g 2 0 , we restrict ourselves to an accurate determination of b V at only one value of the bare coupling, corresponding to β = 3.414, which we compare to the previous results.…”
