Abstract: Spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) present genetic alterations in bone metabolism and in adaptive immunity. Mast cells (MCs) play a fundamental role in inflammatory response, tissue repair and defense of the organism and may also be involved in the bone metabolism.
