Material Identification in Helical Milling for Smart Drilling Applications

Abstract: Hole making on stacked aerospace materials is a major operation during aircraft assembly which poses significant challenges during manufacturing because of different material machinability. Most common problems include poor hole quality and low productivity as single tool and same cutting parameter is used for both material layers.
