“…Although data from small patient populations in different settings should be compared with caution, it may be that Our hypothermia incidence is three times higher than reported in the observational multicentre study by Thorburn and colleagues involving 265 participants undergoing emergency CD. 18 This study reported an incidence of hypothermia (<36.0 C) in 10.7% of the patients. However, they also reported that 14.7% of the patients were hyperthermic (>37.5 C) on admission to the recovery room.…”

“…The maternal temperature comfort score was neutral (neither warm or cold, i.e., score of 45-54) in 55% (n = 22) of the patients preoperatively and 30% (n = 12) postoperatively, whereas 17.5% (n = 7) and 40% (n = 16) felt cold in the preoperative and postoperative phase, respectively (Table 3). Eight patients reported to feel warm, that is, a thermal comfort score more than 74, however, none had hyperthermia, defined as a core temperature above 37.5 C. 18 Of the 13 patients (32.5%) who had shivering, only six (15% of total) had hypothermia (Table 1). In the PACU, three patients with shivering were treated with warming devices, two with FAW and one with a warm blanket.…”
