Abstract:In this paper the problem of extracting signal parameters of stationary and non-stationary signals by applying a parameter estimation scheme is discussed. At first, a Maximum Likelihood based approach is introduced, which combines the most classical spectral analysis tool, the Fourier transform, with a modern parameter estimation scheme, the EM algorithm. After explaining the ideas of local polynomial approximation, an extended signal model is proposed, which considers linear parameter variations in order to e… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
