Abstract:-This paper outlines results from an experimental investigation on carbonaceous ceramic matrix composites (e.g., C/SiC) into mechanical behaviour under both monotonic tensile and step loadings, and into environmental behaviour exposed to oxidizing atmosphere containing oxygen. Complex damage phenomena like matrix microcracking, interficial debonding, fibre breakage and oxidation can occur in the serviced composites and result in progressive strain increase. These mechanisms can be modeled and formulated from t… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
