Abstract:The β-amyloid peptide (Aβ) is the main constituent of senile plaques, a typical hallmark of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Monomeric Aβ is generated through sequential processing of the amyloid precursor protein (APP), with a final step involving γ-secretase activity.
