Mechanisms of the imbibition behavior in shales: A critical review

Abstract: Despite the success of hydraulic fracturing in yielding large production increases from shale gas reservoirs, uncertainties associated with basic transport processes require understanding in order to improve the efficiency and minimize environmental impacts.
