“…4 Histologic examination revealed 35 cases of well-differentiated liposarcoma (WDL), 21 cases of DDL, 21 cases of myxoid liposarcoma, 6 cases of pleomorphic liposarcoma (PL), 1 case of myxoid pleomorphic liposarcoma, and 11 cases of unstated type, as detailed in the Supplemental Table . PMLs develop most commonly in the posterior mediastinum in approximately 48% of cases, followed by 28% in the anterior mediastinum and 11% in the middle mediastinum. 6 The DDL we report in this study occurred in the posterior mediastinum. The radiologic features of mediastinal liposarcomas are nonspecific but are suggestive of the diagnosis.…”

“…Wide resection of the chest wall however risks thoracic cavity failure and subsequent pulmonary failure 10 . The approach to access mediastinal tumor is Clamshell incision, median sternotomy, anterolateral and posterolateral sternotomy, and the median sternotomy is a common approach used because it provides better exposure to superior and anterior mediastinal lesion 15 . In this case we performed a sternotomy surgery to evacuate metastasis mass in this patient.…”

“…Liposarcomas mainly arise from the soft tissues of the extremities and the retroperitoneal region [ 1 ]. On the other hand, mediastinal liposarcoma constitutes a rare entity, accounting for fewer than 1% of mediastinal tumors, and approximately 2% of liposarcomas [ 2 ]. The literature contains reports of mediastinal liposarcomas originating from all mediastinal compartments.…”
