research finds that self-oriented perfectionism is a risk-factor for disordered eating. Failing to achieve extreme standards leads perfectionists to feel a lack of personal control. to regain a sense of control, some self-oriented perfectionists turn to dietary restriction. the present study used experimental methods to test the hypothesis that power, operationalized as situational resource control, might increase consumption among those high in self-oriented perfectionism. Ninetysix women (who met at least one criterion for anorexia nervosa), completed a lab study in which they were randomly assigned to either a power or control condition. in the power condition, participants expected to have power over an ostensible partner. in the control condition, participants expected to work as equals. Under the guise of a taste-test cover story, participants then had the opportunity to consume a liquid test meal, which was weighed and served as the study's central dependent measure. individual differences in perfectionism were measured with self-report questionnaires. Consistent with hypotheses, among those high in selforiented perfectionism, situational power increased caloric consumption. these results suggest that the psychological experience of power may be a protective factor for those at-risk for developing maladaptive patterns of eating.

health psychology report • volume 7(2), 9 original article background The Five-Factor Obsessive-Compulsive Inventory-Short Form (FFOCI-SF) is an instrument used to measure obsessive-compulsive personality disorder, which is one of the most widespread personality disorders. The FFOCI-SF is a shorter version of the FFOCI that was developed on the basis of the Five Factor Model of personality treated as a general framework for identifying different traits useful in describing maladaptive personality. This paper presents the psychometric parameters of the Polish adaptation of the FFOCI-SF. participants and procedure Our sample consisted of 328 respondents aged 18-75 (61% women) from Poland. The voluntary and anonymous procedure consisted of completing inventories in a selfreported, paper-and-pencil way. The respondents received the FFOCI-SF, the Personal Inventory for DSM-5 (PID-5) and the Big Five Inventory-2 (BFI-2). results The findings suggest that there is acceptable internal consistency for most of the scales and some problems with the differentiation between some scales in factor analysis. Additionally, we present the hierarchical structure of the facets included in the instrument with two factors analogous to the metatraits of personality (Alpha and Beta). The criterion validity of the inventory was established by correlations on the one hand with Big Five traits (BFI-2) and on the other hand with another measure of the obsessivecompulsive personality disorder traits, namely appropriate scales from the Personality Inventory for DSM-5 (PID-5). conclusions This study confirms that the FFOCI-SF is a valid measure for scientific purposes. In order to use it for diagnostic purposes, further research is suggested on clinical samples. The findings also suggest that the FFOCI-SF can be useful in exploring new solutions in structure of the obsessivecompulsive personality disorder facets.

Introduction: Technology is constantly evolving in a vast number of fields. In this way, cyber victimization is associated with psychopathology, and body appearance is a primary target of cyberbullies. Thus, the literature demonstrates a clear association between bullying and unhealthy eating behaviors in adolescents. However, studies that have examined the association between cyber victimization and eating disorder psychopathology are scarce.Objective: (1) To analyze whether there are differences in the cyber victimization scores depending on the gender, controlling for age; (2) to analyze whether cyber victimization is negatively associated with eating disorder psychopathology; (3) to analyze whether this association is moderated by the level of Appearance Evaluation.Method: Participants in the present study included 676 adolescents, 367 girls and 309 boys from several cities of Spain. The mean age for the overall sample was 14.28 years (SD = 1.65), ranging from 12 to 19. The participants filled out the questionnaires ECIPQ, MBSRQ, and EAT.Results: Cyber victimization was associated with eating disorders psychopathology, Appearance Evaluation, and Overweight Preoccupation. Appearance Evaluation moderated the association between Cyber victimization and the eating disorder psychopathology.Conclusion: It is necessary to assess vulnerability to eating disorders in adolescents who have been victims of cyberbullying.
