Medium Modulated Oxygen Reduction Activity of Fe/Co Active Centre‐engrafted Electrocatalysts

Abstract: Iron and cobalt metal atoms are effective active centers for the synthesis of carbon-based noble-metal-free catalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) owing to their cost-effective intrinsic activity and tunable properties. Annealing of the active center with the conducting carbon enhances the ORR activity significantly. Herein, we have engrafted Fe and Co active centers in the homemade conducting carbon and the ORR performance has been closely observed under acidic and basic pH conditions to understand… Show more

“…45 The reason for this may be attributed to the low activation energy required for creating the -OOH species over the Fe atom. 27,84 Further, to derive more accurate and insightful information on the efficiency profiling of the catalysts for the HER and OER, linear sweep voltammograms (LSVs) were recorded (Fig. 7c and d).…”

“…The various interaction with the heteronuclear DACs, specifically electron accumulation or depletion between the diatomic active sites, are more interesting for electronic structural modulation and further catalytic performance. [90][91][92] For example, Zhang et al successfully prepared Pt-Ru dimers anchored on nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes by two-step ALD processes (Fig. 4c).…”
