Abstract: Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a devastating neurodegenerative condition with no effective treatments. Recent research highlights the role of NMDA receptors in AD development, as excessive activation of these receptors triggers excitotoxicity. Memantine, an NMDA receptor antagonist, shows promise in curbing excitotoxicity.
