Abstract: Background Helicobacter pylori, the main cause of various gastric diseases, infects approximately half of the human population. This pathogen is auxotrophic for cholesterol which it converts to various cholesteryl α-glucoside derivatives, including cholesteryl 6’-acyl α-glucoside (CAG).
