Memory about 1990th in Contemporary Saint-Petersburg: Anatoliy Sobchak and Galina Starovoytova

Abstract

Process of co-memorization of famous politicians analyzed at the example of memory of two bright Petersburg politicians of 90th. Discussions about possible monuments and memorable desks, appellations of their names to some places of city as well as creation and following activities of memorial museums are subjects of research. In the first case co-memorization process are realized from the top mostly, by decisions of political leaders at regional and federation levels. In second case efforts from bottom prevailed, from friends and colleagues, which received support from officials some later. The efforts of politicians family members play prominent role in the both cases.
